Wharfedale Heritage Centre Loudspeaker

We have been waiting for this centre channel since the release of the Wharfedale Linton's in 2019. The Heritage range of speakers are absolutely a top seller and now you can get a matching centre channel to really finish off your audio setup.

What makes this so special is the attention to detail. The new Wharfedale Heritage Centre is designed to complete the Heritage Series experience for customers who already love the sound and styling of the Linton or Denton speakers. Developed in response to customer demand, it's the first dedicated centre speaker in the Heritage lineup, bringing perfectly matched sound and aesthetics to home theatre and multichannel music systems.

Wharfedales Heritage Style

Styled in the same classic real wood veneers and matched precisely to the proportions and voicing of the Linton and Denton models, the Heritage Centre doesn’t just look the part – it delivers the same full-bodied warmth, rich midrange, and articulate expression that have defined the range. Whether it’s anchoring the dialogue in a surround mix or enhancing stage coherence in a multi-speaker stereo array, the Heritage Centre brings the Heritage family’s voice to the forefront. Crafted with a meticulous attention to detail, tuned by acclaimed acoustic designer Peter Comeau, and engineered for seamless integration, the LINTON Heritage Centre finally gives Heritage Series fans a no-compromise, visually and sonically aligned solution for modern multichannel systems.

Unmistakably part of the Heritage family in looks, styling, substance and performance, the Heritage Centre is available in the same options of real-wood veneer finishes: Black Oak, Mahogany or Walnut. The matching black front baffle, vintage-style cloth grille, and subtle yet iconic gold Wharfedale badges make this centre speaker blend seamlessly into any Linton or Denton system.

Heritage Inspired Driver Design For Seamless Front Soundstage Performance

At its core, the Linton Heritage Centre features a carefully considered driver configuration: twin 6.5” woven Kevlar woofers that flank a 2” soft-dome midrange and a 1” soft-dome tweeter. This layout mirrors the driver complement and tonal balance of the Heritage series, ensuring coherent dialogue delivery and uniform dispersion characteristics and tonal consistency across the front soundstage. This design guarantees the clarity and weight required for movie soundtracks while retaining musicality for multi-channel music playback.

Peter Comeau Centre Of Attention

The Heritage Centre is not a retrofit – it is a fully bespoke model designed under the guidance of Peter Comeau, Director of Acoustic Design for Wharfedale and the master behind all Wharfedale Heritage models. Through typically precise and considered crossover engineering, driver matching, and enclosure tuning, it provides natural tonality and superior vocal intelligibility without colouration. It is voiced to deliver expressive, focused, and fatigue-free dialogue – even at high volumes.

The cabinet, while compact, is built to the same standards as the Linton and Denton loudspeakers. Braced internally to suppress resonances and fitted with a rear-firing bass reflex port, it delivers low-end support that adds depth and presence to vocal material without bloating or overhang. This gives the speaker authority and scale, even in large rooms or dynamic film scenes.

Ready For 2-Channel

As two-channel systems evolve into 3.1 or 5.1 home theatres or beyond, the Heritage Centre fills the vital role of dialogue anchor and linchpin. Unlike generic centre speakers, it offers a perfect – and only correct - acoustic and aesthetic match for Wharfedale Heritage set-up. And to that point, any modern-retro setup brings the styling, appeal, and living-room-friendly style guide to home theatre setups without compromising aesthetics or sound.

Why Choose The Wharfedale Heritage Centre Speaker?

This centre speaker has been what every owner of a pair of Wharfedale Linton's or Dentons has been waiting for. Styled to match the Heritage range, it really is the missing piece. At Audio Trends we love this speaker range and we are very excited to have it in the showroom alongside its standmount brothers. If you have come to our showroom in the past 7 years, studio 6 always has a pair plugged in, as we often demo them daily. Great job Wharfedale!

About Wharfedale

Wharfedale Wireless Works was founded by Gilbert Briggs in 1932, soon after he built his very first loudspeaker in the cellar of his home in Ilkley, Yorkshire. This sleepy little market town was located in the valley of the river “Wharfe” – an area known to this day as ‘Wharfedale’. This unlikely location would ...
