The Elysian CR is the dedicated centre-channel loudspeaker for the Elysian R Series, engineered to deliver Wharfedale’s flagship sound to premium home cinema and multichannel music systems.

A true three-way centre speaker, Elysian CR combines dual 8.5” coated glass fibre matrix bass drivers, a dedicated 6” coated glass fibre matrix midrange driver and a 27 x 45mm AMT high-frequency unit. It is designed to deliver dialogue with clarity and natural body, while preserving the scale, tonal balance and dynamic expression needed to match the wider Elysian R system.

In a high-end home cinema system, the centre channel is critical. It carries dialogue, anchors the soundstage and connects the left and right speakers into a coherent front soundfield. For Elysian R, that role demands more than a conventional centre speaker.
Elysian CR uses a genuine three-way architecture, allowing the centre channel to reproduce voices and effects with the same clarity, authority and tonal refinement as the main Elysian R models. The dedicated midrange driver ensures dialogue remains natural and intelligible, while the dual bass drivers provide weight and scale. The AMT treble unit delivers speed and openness, preserving fine detail without adding hardness.
Whether used with Elysian 1R, 2R, 3R or 4R, Elysian CR completes the system with a centre channel engineered to the same flagship standard.

Three Way Driver Design With Big Bass

The separate midrange unit ensures voices are presented with natural body, clarity and focus. The bass and midrange drivers use coated glass fibre matrix cones, selected for their combination of strength, low mass and controlled damping. This helps deliver clean bass, natural midrange tone and low colouration.

AMT Tweeter

The 27 x 45mm AMT delivers speed, openness and fine detail from a centre-channel format. The Elysian R AMT is engineered for speed, openness and precision. Its pleated diaphragm moves air with exceptional efficiency, giving the loudspeaker a sense of effortless detail and natural high-frequency extension.

The R Crossover

The Elysian R crossover uses premium components, including high-silicon-iron-cored coils for bass, air-core coils for midrange and treble, Super Audiophile polypropylene capacitors and low-inductance resistors. Newly designed direct-path PCBs help preserve signal integrity.

SLPP Bass Management

Wharfedale’s Slot-Loaded Profiled Port system improves bass extension and control while reducing turbulence and placement sensitivity. The result is bass that is powerful, fast and consistent in real listening rooms.
