Van den Hul The Goldwater Speaker Cable

The Van den Hul The Goldwater is a special verson of the Clearwater. A great way to get into a high quality silver plated speaker cable for a very reasonable price. The van den Hul Goldwater has detail and clarity to spare combined with a natural appealing warmth.

In addition to its HULLIFLEX ® material jacket’s excellent impenetrability to environmental chemical agents, which after years of permanent exposure would be able to attack its Matched Crystal OFC strands through their extra dense defensive Silver coating, the extra embedded Gold colored filler material assures maximum protection: by exhibiting excellent reflective properties to ultraviolet radiation (UV) from the sun, any corrosive chemical activity on the conductors is reduced to a minimum.

The Goldwater is especially intended for use as a twin line loudspeaker cable in areas with an increased corrosion activity such as industrial, coastal and humid tropical areas. Due to its maximum corrosion protection The Goldwater is excellently suited for use in permanent professional, commercial and industrial distribution setups such as church sound systems and shopping mall, airport and alike music distribution systems as well as in car hi-fi applications.

As with all cabling in corrosive environments, proper care should be paid to seal all cable ends against air penetration; (contaminated) air tends to flow in and out of cables due to each day’s temperature variations.

The two conductor groups are twisted in opposite directions. The resistance of each lead is: 0.9 Ohm/100 meter. The external dimensions are: 16.6mm and 5.0mm thick.

Apart from its jacket’s extra protective Gold coloured filler material and the extra dense silver layer on the conductors, the cable design doesn’t differ from our The Clearwater. Besides its UV protective function, the Gold colour cosmetically works out very nice.

The jacket on each lead is different in shape, and the flat middle-section between both leads has a printing on one side: both properties are easy polarity finders. Type printing on every 25cm. (10″) makes cutting of specified lengths very easy.

Sonically this cable is a great product with a very balanced overall quality. There is no harshness and the spatial reproduction is superior. Just like The Clearwater, we believe The Goldwater will be a very popular speaker cable for many years to come.

Terminated Pair Option

This description is for a purchase by the metre. Buy what you wish and either fit your own plugs or use it as bare wire. However, we have a selection of pre-cut lengths already fitted off with banana plugs. This is done by an experienced audio technician and so is done right and saves you the time and "fiddle" of doing it yourself which can be a problem if you don't have the right tools. And the price is not much more than you would pay for the separate items. If you have a need for a "custom" length then we can organise that promptly.
