Van den Hul The CS-122 Hybrid – 8 Metres for Front Left, Right & Centre Speakers

Give your system the boost it deserves. Van den Hul's CS-122 Hybrid is a musically dynamic yet smooth sounding speaker cable that manages to combine the qualities of copper, silver and carbon into an affordable package.

The CS-122 Hybrid is the next step up from the best-selling The Clearwater and boy is it worth the money! More substantial in every way, the CS-122 raises the bar in both clarity and musicality whilst adding increased dynamics and uber punchy bass. The best thing about the entire Van den Hul range is the total lack of fatigue when listening for long periods. Many cable brands tend to shout at you to get the message across but Van den Hul cables are faithfully transparent to the sound of the music and always leave you feeling relaxed after a listening session.

The 2 conductors are made of 147 strands of 0.16 mm. diameter high purity Matched Crystal Oxygen Free Copper with a very dense pure silver coating. Each conductor exhibits a cross-section area of 2.96 mm², equalling AWG 12.5 which means you will probably need to fit terminations. Covering the two conductors you will find an extra Linear Structured Carbon saturated layer to improve the sonic performance and to transform the radiated magnetic field into an audio-signal again.

Van den Hul The Clearwater – 20 Metres For Rear Surround Speakers

A great way to get into a high quality silver plated speaker cable for a very reasonable price. Van den Hul The Clearwater has detail and clarity to spare combined with a natural appealing warmth.

With the design of The Clearwater, it was AJ Van den Hul's intention to produce the best match between quality and price. The decision was taken to work with 2 groups of strands with a conductor size of AWG 14; this was because in many situations the distance between the amplifier and the loudspeakers is limited. Therefore a twin-lead construction was made with 2 x 98 strands of a dense very pure silver coated Matched Crystal Oxygen Free Copper.

Sonically this cable is a great product with a very balanced overall quality. There is no harshness and the spatial reproduction is superior. Just as its name suggests: "The sound is as clear as water". But don't just take our word for it, What Hi-Fi? AudioQuest Irish Red – 3 Metre Subwoofer Cable

It is rare for any surround sound system to come supplied with speaker cables and even rarer for it to come with a Subwoofer cable. Yes, they come with a power cable, but you need to connect the subwoofer to the receiver with another RCA type cable which has been specially manufactured to just handle the low frequencies.

Irish Red is a very good and smart looking cable and keeps the AudioQuest tradition for making quality products.It is not a radical change to what you hear from Black Lab, but with the extra silver content the sound will be slightly smoother and significantly better than what gets from the "freebie" cables that come with most subwoofers. Some may think Irish Red is a little on the high side for pricing, but this has as much to do with the rest of your system as much as it has to do with the cable itself.

What You Get In The Pack

This is a 5.1 Surround Cable Pack which includes speaker cable to connect from your home theatre receiver or amplifier to five speakers. There is 8 metres of Van den Hul The CS-122 Hybrid speaker cable for your three front speakers. This is usually split into two 3 metre cables for your Left & Right speakers and a 2 metre cable for your Centre speaker. There is also 20 metres of Van den Hul The Clearwater speaker cable for your rear surround speakers. The speaker cables have no plugs attached. The cables can quite easily be stripped back to reveal the bare speaker wire and can then be used without plugs. If you would like to use plugs that can easily be fitted at home, we recommend the Taga Harmony Banana Plugs. If you want to fit plugs to each end of all the speaker cables you will need a total of 20 plugs, 10 red & 10 black.

A 3 metre AudioQuest Irish Red subwoofer cable is supplied,with solid conductors that eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter.
