A Closer Look

Inside View: The Five uses six state-of the-art digital amplifiers individually coupled with six speakers to deliver great sound in any room. Each instrument, each voice, every detail shines through, pure and precise with remarkably distinct clarity and zero audible distortion. Even when you crank it up loud. Really loud. The Five's all digital sound architecture provides precise sound reproduction, just as the artist intended. All filter settings, active equalisation and time-alignment are done in the digital domain through state-of-the-art DSP circuitry, so there's absolutely no loss of audio quality or energy.

Use Five on it's own or stereo paired with another Five and you can always include a Sonos Sub for better bass (and better clarity throughout the frequency range on the Five – which no longer needs to produce bass). You can also use a pair of Fives as rears in a Sonos home theatre system in a bigger room.

Fine Tune Your Five With Sonos Trueplay: Trueplay fine tunes your Sonos speaker for spot-on playback of what the artist recorded. As flawlessly perfect or beautifully imperfect as they played it. With nothing tweaked. And nothing lost.

Trueplay tuning takes about 3 minutes and uses your iPhone or iPad to measure how sound reflects off walls, furnishings and other surfaces in a room. Then it adjusts your Sonos speaker to make sure it sounds great, no matter where you've placed it. Trueplay listens to a sound played from your Sonos speaker through the microphone inside your iOS device. Trueplay then adjusts your Sonos speaker to sound at its very best in the location it finds itself in.

Control Sonos Five With The S2 Sonos App: Use your Apple or Android device to control your Sonos Five. Download the free S2 Sonos app and it turns your smart phone or tablet into a fully-fledged Sonos controller. Easily navigate and search through playlists and tracks stored on your computer, or select an Internet radio station or stream from your favourite music service like Spotify, Deezer & Tidal. Create customised playlists on the fly for individual rooms or for playback over your entire Sonos system. You can also mute or adjust the volume of each of your players. Got a desktop computer or laptop? Then use the Sonos Controller for Mac or PC for added control. They all work together seamlessly so mix and match to your hearts content.

With free automatic software updates you'll always have the newest features and music services to enjoy. Just register your system and Sonos will automatically notify you when software updates are available. Simply press one button and your system updates itself. How easy is that!

With the ability to play tunes from your music library, online music services, internet radio or direct from your mobile device, the Play:5 was a revelation and redefined the quality of sound one could expect from a one box solution. The Play:5 Gen 2 built on the strengths of the original and added some exciting new features.

We are a team of true audio nuts and love with a passion every type of music reproduction from vinyl to the latest in streaming devices.
