Stereo Sound: Stylus high-performance "SM" (stereo/mono) speakers offer rich pure-fidelity dual-channel sound from a single speaker. Their unique Dual-Directional Soundfield provides wider-than-normal dispersion, a particularly important consideration outdoors where there are no walls or ceiling to contain sound. These speakers are ideal in small outdoor areas less suited to a stereo pair, or where a single speaker is preferred.

Our Take On The Stylus 370-SM
Did you know that Paradigm loudspeakers are still designed, engineered, and crafted just outside Toronto, Canada? It's been that way since 1982. That's when co-founders Jerry VanderMarel and Scott Bagby decided to change the prevailing industry paradigm - thus the name. They wanted to build high performance loudspeakers right near their home. They wanted to custom-design their speaker components based on science, not speculation. And they wanted to make them available at prices that everyone would appreciate. We totally agree with the philosophy and although we sell other brands that have similar ethics, long-time customer loyalty has seen the brand a favourite with our customers for decades.
The Stylus 370-SM is a largish three driver, 2-Way outdoor speaker and is ideal where you have an odd-shaped entertainment area and find placement difficult and can only use one speaker or alternatively have the space but demand beautiful sound across the zone or zones. At 91dB efficiency (about average) you will need at least a 50 Watt RMS - preferably about 80 Watts) per channel amplifier, not so much for power as the 370-SM's only handle 70 Watts RMS max in Mono (35+35 Stereo) but to minimise amplifier distortion. They come with speaker wire binding posts which will accept decent cable. Our recommendation would be QED 79 strand as it is reasonably priced, can be run over long distances (upto 20 metres) and is resistant to oxidisation.
