Our Take
Did you know that Paradigm loudspeakers are still designed, engineered, and crafted just outside Toronto, Canada? It's been that way since 1982. That's when co-founders Jerry VanderMarel and Scott Bagby decided to, eh-hem, change the prevailing industry paradigm. They wanted to build high performance loudspeakers right near their home. They wanted to custom-design their speaker components based on science, not speculation. And they wanted to make them available at prices that everyone would appreciate. We totally agree with the philosophy and although we sell other brands that have similar ethics, long-time customer loyalty has seen the brand a favourite with our customers for decades.
The Stylus 370 is a largish twin driver, 2-Way outdoor speaker with a bigger woofer then the Stylus 270 and is ideal where you have a large entertainment area and need something for more than just background music outside - something where you want to go into "party-mode" from time-to-time or when the neighbours are away or there are no neighbours!. At 91dB efficiency (about average) you will need at least a 50 Watt RMS - preferably about 80 Watts) per channel amplifier, not so much for power as the 370's only handle 70 Watts RMS max but to minimise amplifier distortion. They come with speaker wire binding posts which will accept decent cable. Our recommendation would be QED 79 strand as it is reasonably priced, can be run over long distances (up to 20 metres) and is resistant to oxidisation.
