These KEF Coda W Speakers impressed us from day one. They just tick so many boxes. There’s the Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX Adaptive™, aptX Lossless™ so you can stream from a smartphone, tablet of laptop with absolute ease. Then there’s the digital inputs including USB-C so you can hook up a computer and also optical and HDMI so you can improve the sound of your television. Then there’s a line level input for hooking up a CD player or tape deck and a phono input for your turntable. And if you need deeper bass there’s a sub out as well. They have a remote control and top panel controls, they look pretty cool and they sound very, very good.

For this system we thought we’d have the best of both ways so we’ve included a music streamer and a turntable.

For the streamer we chose the extremely popular, and deservedly so, WiiM Pro Network Music Streamer. This is WiiM’s least expensive normal size model, as opposed to the puck sized Mini and feels like a much more expensive model. The WiiM Home App supports Spotify, Tidal, Amazon Prime Music, Qobuz, Deezer and more and it sports an analogue input, analogue and optical outputs and multi-room capabilities. It also has two-way Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2 and dual band Wi-Fi.

For vinyl replay we have a chosen the popular fully automatic belt drive Audio Technica LP70X Turntable which features an upgradeable stylus, anti-resonance, die-cast aluminium platter with felt mat and a stylish three-piece chassis construction that dampens resonances for improved sound quality.

This is a great little system which shows that for around $2K there is absolutely no doubt you can get a great streaming and vinyl replay system. You don’t have to choose, you can have both and this system does it with an abundance of style, substance and great sound.

WiiM Pro Network Music Streamer

The WiiM Pro network music streamer is a versatile and high-performance addition to any sound system, providing an affordable solution for high-res streaming.
