About The JL Audio Fathom f110v2 Subwoofer
The f110v2 is a powered subwoofer with a 10" (254mm) Bass Driver and 1,100 Watts of Power.
The Fathom f110v2 is the most compact subwoofer in the Fathom lineup but is fully capable of delivering stellar performance in smaller spaces. The combination of an ultra-long throw W7 10-inch (254 mm) driver and a very powerful switching amplifier give it the kind of output normally associated with far larger subwoofer systems.
Because it is built with the same driver and amplifier technology as JL Audio's flagship Gotham®, the f110v2 delivers a tremendous level of sound quality. Low distortion, excellent dynamic capabilities and shockingly deep bass extension will allow you to experience all the excitement of the most demanding cinematic material, while also being able to reproduce all the nuance and texture of your most delicate musical material.
A complete set of signal processing features is easily accessible on the front panel of every Fathom. These include a highly flexible low-pass filter, variable phase, switchable polarity, e.l.f. trim and JL Audio's powerful Digital Automatic Room Optimisation (D.A.R.O.) system.
A calibrated microphone is included for the D.A.R.O. system. Input connections are made via unbalanced RCA connections or balanced Neutrik® combo XLR/TRS jacks. Also included is an XLR output to connect a second Fathom® as a slave unit.
About Fathom: Fathom® subwoofers are ideal for larger spaces thanks to their higher efficiency and higher power output. The combination of ultra-long throw W7-HT drivers and a very powerful switching amplifier result in jaw-dropping performance capabilities at any listening level.
Built Like No Other: The Fathom assembly process brings together all the key component groups: drivers, electronics, wire harnesses and enclosures. A single technician assumes responsibility for the complete assembly process. The finished units make a short trip to the testing room for a series of critical performance and electrical tests.
Technology: JL Audio's engineering department is at the forefront of research into fundamental loudspeaker behaviour. They have developed proprietary electromagnetic and suspension analysis systems and invested heavily in state-of-the-art manufacturing and testing. This has produced subwoofer drivers widely considered as reference standards for linear displacement and dynamic stability. It has also resulted in numerous U.S. and International Patents issued for technologies that refine and extend the performance envelope of the dynamic driver.
Our Take
The JL Audio Fathom f110v2 Subwoofer is a compact powerhouse designed to deliver exceptional sound performance in smaller spaces. Featuring a 10-inch (254 mm) ultra-long throw W7 driver and a robust 1,100-watt switching amplifier, this subwoofer provides the impressive output typically associated with much larger systems. Drawing from the same driver and amplifier technology as the flagship Gotham®, the f110v2 ensures outstanding sound quality with low distortion, excellent dynamics, and remarkably deep bass. Its front panel offers a comprehensive array of signal processing features, including a flexible low-pass filter, variable phase, switchable polarity, and JL Audio's advanced Digital Automatic Room Optimisation (D.A.R.O.) system, which uses a calibrated microphone for precise room tuning. Input options include unbalanced RCA connections and balanced Neutrik® combo XLR/TRS jacks, with an XLR output for linking a second Fathom as a slave unit. Each Fathom subwoofer is meticulously assembled by a single technician, ensuring quality and consistency, and undergoes rigorous testing to meet JL Audio's high standards. With innovative technologies and numerous patents, the f110v2 is further evidence of JL Audio's commitment to advancing loudspeaker performance and engineering excellence.
