About The Denon DP-3000NE Direct Drive Turntable
This is the flagship premium direct-drive turntable from Denon. Solid construction and an S-Shape tonearm deliver detailed, resonance-free music. And the dark ebony natural wood veneer makes it a beautiful addition to your space.
Direct-Drive Motor System (3-Speed): The Denon DP-3000NE turntable utilizes a direct-drive motor system with rotation speed that does not fluctuate no matter the selected speed or load. The DP-3000NE's direct-drive motor system is simple to use, low maintenance, and reaches full speed almost instantly. Easily play your entire vinyl collection with playback at 33⅓ rpm, 45 rpm, and 78 rpm. Another advantage of a direct-drive motor system is that there is no aging belt to be replaced in the future.
Space Vector PWM Motor Control: The turntable's direct-drive motor system incorporates space vector pulse width modulation (SV-PWM), a new design for the motor spinning control. SV-PWM is simply an algorithm used to control the PWM (pulse width modulation) module, which basically powers the motor. SV-PWM greatly reduces harmonics in the motor which can cause overheating and torque fluctuations and offers a continuous reliable voltage and frequency output for long periods of listening at any rotation speed or load via continuous feedback of the rotation speed.
SMPS Power Supply: Instead of a common linear transformer, the Denon DP-3000NE employs a switch mode power supply (SMPS) that greatly benefits the turntables performance by avoiding unnecessary vibrations. It allows integration of the power supply into the turntable, getting rid of any external power transformer or power bricks dangling behind the product. It also avoids voltage and frequency fluctuations from variation in the power grid.
Solid Construction with Adjustable Insulator Feet: The turntable's solidly constructed plinth and sturdy adjustable insulator feet provide the strength needed to reproduce detailed, resonance-free music. The solidly built MDF plinth is covered with a dark ebony natural wood veneer for a beautiful look. The four insulator feet protect the playback from any vibration picked up from the surface that the turntable is placed on and are also adjustable to bring the platter perfectly in balance for the most accurate tracking of the needle in the record groove.
S-Shaped Tonearm: The Denon DP-3000NE features a carefully engineered 9.6" S-Shape curved tonearm with optimized tracking angle at any point during record playback. This newly designed Denon S-Shaped tonearm features cartridge weight adjustment, anti-skating adjustment (0-3 g), and a newly developed arm height adjustment (0-9 mm), giving you full flexibility to customize the turntable with your preferred MM or MC phono cartridge and stylus.
Stereo RCA Output: The Denon DP-3000NE is outfitted with a set of stereo RCA analogue audio outputs and a ground terminal to connect to the Phono input of your integrated amplifier, stereo receiver, or AV receiver. If your amplifier or receiver is not equipped with a Phono input, you'll need an external Phono preamplifier (sold separately) that is compatible with MM (moving magnet) and/or MC (moving coil) cartridges.
Dust Cover: The included dust cover protects the turntable and your records from dust build-up.
Detachable AC Power Cable: The Denon DP-3000NE comes with a detachable 2m AC power cord that plugs into the back of the turntable and into an AC power outlet or surge protector/line-conditioner. We recommend upgrading this to an IsoTek power cable for improved performance.
Denon DP-3000NE Reviews
"The Denon DP-3000NE impresses right from the moment you unpack it and set it up. Its solid build and beautiful seamless dark ebony natural wood veneer make many other turntables in this price range look rudimentary. Its arm has an unusual construction, aiming to use loose coupling to damp resonances rather than being as stiff as possible. This takes some getting used to, but as I found, it is very easy to obtain excellent results, certainly when using the DL-A110 or DL-103(R).
The Denon DP-3000NE does not behave like a magnifying glass on your music collection, rather, it is a music machine first and foremost. It allows the user to extract the essence of anything they play, be it hard electro, house, R&B, Jazz, Soul, or more traditional music, with minimal effort and present it in an always pleasant and engaging manner.
The DL-103 and DL-103R are almost as much a surprise to me as the DP-3000NE because they never fail to go right for the core of the music and present it with confidence and gusto, and on top, they manage to sound smooth and fluid, despite possessing "just" a conical stylus.
The Denon DP-3000NE and DL-103, DL-103R, or DL-A110 work beautifully synergistically to provide a big, upbeat, confident, well-saturated, dynamic, and always toe-tappingly rhythmic sound." Hi-Fi Advice
"Denon's DP-3000NE turntable can carry the company's 'flagship' moniker with pride. At its heart is an innovative direct-drive motor that reaps performance rewards, while styling, fit and finish are first-class and setup is aided by some thoughtful touches. The tonearm has its quirks, which means that cartridge matching is more critical than usual, but get this right and the deck is an absolute winner." Hi-Fi News
Our Take
The beautiful DP-3000NE turntable from Denon will play your vinyl with top-notch accuracy and detail. Its substantial plinth, finished with real dark ebony wood veneer, houses a high-performance direct-drive motor that reaches full speed almost instantly — and maintains it with unwavering steadiness.
This turntable's elegant S-shaped tone arm includes a Denon original headshell that can handle your choice of moving-coil (MC) or moving-magnet (MM) phono cartridges (sold separately). It's also height-adjustable to accommodate the widest variety of cartridges and platter mats.
Sturdy, adjustable insulator feet keep this 'table acoustically isolated from whatever surface you've placed it on, helping reduce unwanted vibration that could interfere with your sound. They also let you easily fine-tune height to get a perfectly level surface for your records.
