Formation Bass is a network connected, wireless subwoofer designed to provide extremely high performance low frequency enhancement of Formation Duo, Formation Wedge and Formation Bar speakers. Formation Bass is configured and controlled using the Bowers & Wilkins Home app. The app is available for both iOS and Android devices.

Sound That Provides a Clearer Picture
Just The Beginning: The Formation Bass, when teamed with a Bar and a couple of Flex's can form a stylish and extremely capable surround sound system but that is just the beginning. You can set up multiple Formation products such as the Flex & larger Wedge speakers and the Bass subwoofer in other areas of your home to create a whole house sound system that can be as flexible as you need it to be.
Acoustic Design: The secret to the Formation Bass's prodigious low frequency performance lies in its design. The Bass has two long throw, metal coned 6.5" drivers which are ideally located at each end of the stunning cylindrical enclosure. This dual opposed driver design ensures that even when the drivers are delivering high levels of low bass there is absolutely no vibration coming from the cabinet and colouring the sound.
Small But Perfectly Formed: Even though the Formation Bass is compact it is certainly not lacking in welly. It weighs in at a not inconsiderable 12.5kg and gets a stonking 250 watts to drive its dual opposed metal coned 6.5" drivers. Digital Signal Processing (DSP) & Dynamic EQ are thrown in for good measure and the result is a compact sub that sounds anything but. All your friends, once they hear the quality and quantity of bass supplied, will be left wondering where you have hidden the real sub.
Meshed Together: Acoustic design aside, what makes this range of particular interest is Bowers & Wilkins's own mesh network that runs independently from a home Wi-Fi network, keeping the load off it and allowing ultra-tight synchronisation between all speakers on the network. This, says Bowers & Wilkins, results in a 1-microsecond sync disparity between products – which is beyond the limits of human hearing. As a result, there's no 'time smear' or compromise to the sound.
