The Starter System
Paradigm 5.1.2 Surround Sound System
The Paradigm Monitor Series has now been available in one form or another for many years. We have picked Paradigm out of all the other brands we sell, as our entry point pack. But just because it is our entry point, don’t think the performance is average. The Paradigm Monitor Series, punches well above its weight.
We suggest matching the front 3 using the Monitor 6000’s and SE2000C Center Speaker. Then we can build your pack and choose on-wall or in-ceiling surround speakers.
Depending on your room size you can choose a 10’ or 12” Subwoofer or two! You don’t need to spend thousands on a high-end AV Receiver to power this system. A modestly priced Denon or Yamaha will do the job. If this is your first time getting into a home theatre system, or you just want no frills value for money, it’s hard to look past Paradigm.
The Enthusiast System
Klipsch Home Cinema System
Klipsch have been around since 1945. The current generation of the reference premier looks amazing with the copper drivers and has the sound to match.
With any home cinema system, the best way to design a system is based on the room size and how far back you are sitting. With the Klipsch we can really tailor the system to your room. There are 3 Floorstanding models to choose from and 3 Centers to choose from.
We highly recommend putting in the biggest Center Speaker you can fit. The Center Speaker is doing the majority of the work when watching TV shows and movies. Klipsch have on-wall and in-wall/in-ceiling speakers that can be used for the effect and Atmos channels.
There are 4 different Subwoofers ranging from a 10” to the 16” monster. If space allows always go with a least 2 Subs in your room, this will sound better than 1 big sub.
Depending on how many speakers you have, generally an AV Amplifier between $2,000 - $4,000 will match the Klipsch Speakers.
The Reference System
KEF Home Cinema System
If you really enjoy music, then investing in a Kef Speaker system is well worth it, and specifically any of the models from the R Meta Series.
KEF have a smooth detailed sound with great stereo imaging they still pack a punch and have plenty of dynamics for home cinema, without the aggressive sound of what a Klipsch system sounds like.
KEF Speakers do love power, so you are going to want one of the better models of AV Amplifiers to do this. But an even better solution is to power the Left, Centre & Right Channels with a Power Amp. Instead of buying the high-end AV Amplifier, for similar dollars, you can buy a Mid-range AV Amplifier and a 3-Channel Power Amp and get a better sound. A Power Amp is also an item that won’t be outdated in the next 5 years.
In the showroom we are using a Denon AVC-X3900H Amplifier and Anthem MCA325 Power Amp. The MCA325 powers the KEF R11 Fronts and R6 Center, the Denon powers all the Rear and Atmos Speakers. This gives us a better result than say buying a Denon AVC-A10 or Marantz Cinema 30.
