Pre-Wiring Your Home

Pre-Wiring Your Home

What Does Pre-Wiring Mean?

Pre-wiring is a process that takes place during the frame stage of a new home build or renovation. All the necessary cables are installed and pulled to the correct locations in the house.

This is done before insulation and plaster are installed to the internal walls of the house.

What Systems Require Pre-Wiring?

Dedicated Cinemas, Media Rooms, Multi-Room Audio and Outdoor Audio.

What Homes Require Pre-Wiring?

All new home and renovation builds, especially multi-storey homes. If your home is a 2 or 3-storey home and if your Cinema or Media Room has another room built on top it, you need pre-wiring. Single storey homes can have wiring installed after the home is built only if there is roof access.

It takes Installers additional time to install the cables in a built single storey home. They have to drill through down through the wall noggins to pull the cables to the appropriate locations.

What Cables Are Installed?

- HDMI Cables for Projectors and TVs

- Speaker Cables

- Subwoofer Cables

- Data Cables

Who Should Do Pre-Wiring?

This is not a DIY job or something an electrician can “figure out”. Only experienced Audio Video Installers should do pre-wiring. They work daily with HDMI Cables, Speaker Cables, Subwoofer Cables and Data Cables.

Experienced Audio Video Installers, like our in-house install team at Audio Trends, know the intricacies of the aforementioned cables, how to carefully install them without damage to the cables and know exactly the correct location to route them to.

The Installation Team at Audio Trends also takes multiple pictures and detailed notes recording exactly where the cable has been located. This eliminates the guesswork of trying to find the cable after the plaster has been installed. Contact us today to arrange a quote for your pre-wire today.
