You haven't heard bass until you've heard Richter's new Thor subwoofer. Previous models have earned awards and rave reviews but the all-new 10.6 is more an engine than a speaker! Powered by its own 450 Watt amplifier, it really kicks hard...really hard.
One of the keys to the powerful performance lies in its advanced driver design. This ultra-rigid design resists the bending and twisting that causes distortion while still being responsive. The result is tight, fast, and tuneful bass with exceptionally high output levels. All this impels the new double magnet, long-throw 250mm (10") driver.
A powered subwoofer gives you bass you can feel as well as hear. And this is true of Thor. You feel the Thor as much as hear its smooth, firm sound extending into deep, floor-shaking subsonics perfect for any music from the expansive bass chords of Wagner to party pumping club anthems. Removable Foam Port Plugs: This is really a nice touch. You will notice that there are two ports on the front baffle. Front porting has the advantage that you can position the sub close to a wall (corner is even better) but Richter Thor takes this one step further. Each of the front ports can have a foam plug inserted while allows a further 'tuning' of the sub to either your room or personal preference. This is not a new idea, but has been used on earlier Richter subs as well as at least one other brand that we know.
Designed In Australia: Just a quick reminder that our speaker and amplifier designers are world-class and many have been contracted by big overseas brands. Don't be fooled into thinking Richter is simply using a clone from some OEM manufacturer in China. The design is 100% Australian an is built on 30 years + of individual experience by owner John Cornell and speaker engineer Martin Gosnell. Price also is not a rip-off but rather represents the best value your money can buy. Sorry to have to say this, but because Aussies don't generally speaking believe much in Aussies, the price is super sharp so you won't even be tempted to spend your money on the competition!
