10'' Aluminium S-Shape Tonearm: This aluminium tonearm ensures excellent damping and the 10" length enables perfect tracking of the record groove with minimal tracking error especially towards the inner grooves. Compared to a straight tonearm, the S-shape will increase the effective mass of the tonearm, which is great when wanting to upgrade to heavier Moving Coil cartridges.
Adjustable VTA & Azimuth: With the new tonearm, both the azimuth and the vertical tracking angle (VTA) can be set. The tonearm height can be continuously adjusted by loosening the two grub screws. These settings give you the option of adjusting the height of the tonearm, allowing the use of different turntable mats or other cartridges to always achieve the best sound quality.
Always The Perfect Speed: The speed, electronically controlled with precision, guarantees the most accurate and stable speeds for perfect pitch stability. Change between speeds easily with the toggle switch. With the supplied round belt for 78 rpm, you can also listen to your shellac records. Together with the diamond cut aluminium sub-platter, superb overall speed accuracy is ensured. It also adds more mass to the entire platter and drive system, resulting in additional damping of noise and unwanted resonances.
Dampened Die-Cast Aluminium Platter: The die-cast aluminium platter gets reworked and precision balanced in an extra step to obtain the perfect platter. The heavy aluminium platter has a ring made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) on the inside that helps to dampen all resonances and thus minimize wow and flutter.
Metal Feet: The Debut Pro S stands on three height-adjustable damped aluminium feet to guarantee perfect stability.
Our Take
Style & substance, the Pro-Ject Debut Pro S has it all with its all black finish and S-Shaped 10" Tonearm. Like most Pro-Ject turntables the Debut Pro S is fully manual and belt drive – the recipe used the world over for the highest quality sound at the most attractive price. But that doesn't mean it's completely devoid of creature comforts. 33 & 45 rpm speed change is electronically controlled and you even get an extra belt in the box to allow you to play 78 rpm records from yesteryear. The satin black hand painted finish is incredibly stylish and much easier to keep looking good than gloss black. And that S-Shaped tonearm is super cool looking in a retro kind of way that plays with your senses a little.
