About The Rega Fono MM Phono Preamplifier

The Rega Fono MM Mk3 Moving Magnet Phono Preamp ia a great all-rounder that will deliver sonic excitement to any vinyl set-up. The Fono MM Mk3 is a moving magnet disc stage which has been designed to be effective, easy to use and above all reproduce music.

Rega Fono MM Phono Preamplifier

Technically Advanced: The Fono MM uses a fully discrete, cascaded, complementary amplifier input stage, a configuration designed to optimise the performance of your moving magnet cartridge. The RIAA equalization has been split into two stages to minimise interaction. Polyester capacitors have been used in the signal path and polypropylene capacitors are used in the RIAA equalization circuits.

Better Looking Than Ever: Now housed in a brand new redesigned case to match the new Fono MC and Rega's latest range of electronic components offering a modern and sleek look guaranteed to integrate into any hi-fi system.

Simple To Use: Your turntable lead (& earth wire if required) simply connects to the left & right RCA inputs on the back panel of the Fono MM & then an RCA interconnect lead connects to a line level input on your amplifier (we recommend the van den Hul The Name interconnect). The Fono MM is designed to amplify the signal from a moving magnet cartridge to a level which can feed into a 200mV line level analogue input on a standard hi-fi amplifier i.e. a CD, Tuner or AUX input.

Please Note: If you have an integrated amplifier with a built in phono stage, DO NOT connect the Fono MM to this input.

Our Take

Simply switch on, sit back and enjoy!

In The News

The new MK3 Fono MM replaces the multi award winning MK2 model which won WHAT HI-FI? Best Phono stage in its price category 2014, 2015 & 2016.

UK Magazine What Hi-Fi? awarded the Rega Fono MM a coveted 5 star rating and said: A great all-rounder that will deliver sonic excitement to any budget set-up. Get connected and you can sit back and enjoy a big, powerful, punchy sound. A wide-open soundstage gets the best from sparse, voice-driven recordings, while that bottom end power, coupled with great dynamics, ensure dance tracks have presence and rhythm. Treble notes are crisp but never bright, while the generous serving of bass is always controlled.
