Product Description

With the T758 V3 Surround Sound Receiver, NAD’s reputation of developing high performance products with remarkable sound quality is again enhanced. Obviously this has been built-up over many years and can be seen in their latest addition.

Overview

As you'd expect, the NAD T758 V3 supports all popular surround sound formats including Dolby Digital, Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio that are decoded using the latest generation of high-speed DSP. Stereo source material can be converted to surround sound using exclusive NAD "EARS" surround mode, praised by reviewers for its natural sound quality. With both music and movies, the T758’s award-winning heritage reveals its power with immense depth, clarity, and incredible detail. Ordinary AV receivers simply sound flat in comparison.

The NAD Audio Difference: However, where NAD really shine is with audio. If you now realise that there is a difference and how your choice can affect both your music and by extension your speakers, then you would do well to examine NAD very closely. Whether it be stereo music or a movie soundtrack, hear how good they can sound via this virtual powerhouse. It is conservatively rated at 110 Watts per channel in stereo mode, but sounds like a lot more, punching out deep bass and superb stereo image for an A/V Receiver. Now you may well think this is just a bit of sales hype, but not all manufacturers are just making boxes to keep the factory working. Right from the top at NAD there is a culture of music first, something that has been the philosophy from day one in the 1970s. So, what's the difference?

Full Disclosure Power: NAD uses Full Disclosure Power (FDP) on all their Hi-Fi amplifiers, the most demanding criterion for performance measurement. FDP specifies distortion under the most extreme conditions of low impedance loads and frequency extremes, rather than the simple and easy 1kHz @ 8 Ohms test quoted by some other manufactures, NAD uses this stricter performance criterion because it more closely matches the demands of real music and real loudspeakers. Maintaining specified distortion at 4/8 Ohms and at 20-20kHz is a much more difficult achievement. The benefit of NAD's Full Disclosure Power is the total elimination of audible distortion at any listening level. This provides pinpoint imaging and realism with music and movies alike.

Keep It Simple No Frills Approach: While other A/V receivers may offer more features, NAD focus the T758 on one mission: audio performance. So as you can see from earlier comments, the T758 A/V Receiver is designed to deliver the very best sound and of course picture and from all your audio and video sources. It does this by eliminating signal-degrading and space-eating processing and seldom-used features which has definite appeal to some. So, this is the music lover's A/V Receiver and is backed by decades of audiophile expertise thus delivering music and movie soundtracks with clarity and detail that will lift the "veil" off your speakers and reveal their full potential.

Second Zone Living: With seven channels to play with, NAD has made the "surround back" channels reassignable. So if you are content with justfive speakers and a subwoofer in your main home theatre room, then you can use the "surround back" channels to power two additional speakers in a second room. Or if you'd like to get better performance from your front speakers, you can use these extra channels to bi-amp your front main speakers - if they have this provision.

Movie And Music Presets: Movies and Music have differing prerequisites. The T758 makes it easy to switch between a CD and a Blu-ray disc without having to reconfigure all your settings. How does it do this? NAD has created a simple user interface that is incredibly flexible but very easy to use. Each source component has its own customised setup that is memorized and recalled every time it is selected for viewing. In addition, 5 powerful AV Presets allow custom setups for different types of program material that can specify speaker settings and surround modes to your exact taste. Inputs can even be renamed to match your particular components.

NAD App: A beautiful and intuitive user experience offering a fun and simple way to control and configure your NAD AV Receiver. Control, adjust and select basic functions including power, volume, source, and listening mode for all zones with a touch of your iOS device. Download it here for free from the Apple iTunes App Store.

Note: The NAD Remote App can be used with or without the Ethernet port. The Ethernet port can only currently be found on the VM 150 installed card. If your 758 A/V receiver doesn't have a VM 150 installed, you can use a Global Cache device( WF2SL or IP2SL). This device will need to be installed between your A/V Receiver RS232 port and your network for proper connection.

Get More Music: The T758’s AM/FM tuner has 30 station presets. However as you will read throughout our site, radio reception can be challenging and performance IS affected by a variety of factors. If radio performance from the Receiver is critical, then you will need to connect the T758 to a high quality external antenna for FM (sold separately) which also usually works for DAB+. (You will need the NAD DB 2 digital DAB+ adaptor (sold separately) for high quality DAB+ radio.) For AM reception, we recommend you contact PK Antennas who are specialist AM antenna manufacturer's. For more info on radio reception issues and alternatives click here.

Vinyl Lovers Take Note: Most A/V Receivers today do not have a built-in phono preamplifier and the NAD T758 is no exception. However, this doesn't mean you cannot enjoy the world of vinyl. Either a record player/turntable with a built-in phono preamplifier or the NAD PP2E and a set of cables will have you in a spin.

Our Take

The T758 offers remarkable performance and flexibility in a compact, but solid package. What you'll find is a very clean front panel with just what you need rather than lots of bells and whistles. NAD has a long record of putting your dollars into developing great sounding products with minimal features and the T758 is no exception. On face value you may think that the T758 is expensive when compared with other brands. But if quality sound is the main goal, the the extra premium will rewarded with crystal clear and dynamic sound. This multi-channel powerhouse will bring your favourite music and movies to life with a minimum of fuss and a maximum of pure enjoyment.
