Jethro Tull’s second album, Stand Up, marked an early turning point for the band with the addition of guitarist Martin Barre along with Ian Anderson’s introduction of folk-rock influences to the group’s blues-based sound. Released in the summer of 1969, Stand Up rose quickly to the top of the U.K. Albums Chart, and eventually earned gold certification in the U.S.A.

Album Overview

The new Steven Wilson stereo remix of Jethro Tull‘s Stand Up, which debuted in 2017's Elevated Edition of the 1969 album, is available separately as an individual vinyl release. The vinyl edition contains just the 10 track album. The re-mastered, 180-Gram vinyl version of this phenomenal recording is acoustically stellar. It is well worth the money, especially if you are in the stage where you want to replace older issues with an audiophile re-master.

"This new Steve Wilson mix sounds better than my UK Island pink 1st pressing and every other pressing I own. It's a must have If sound quality is most Important to you. Bass is tight and extended while Instruments appear highly detailed with big soundstage. Vocals sound better than ever before. Steve Wilson of Porcupine Tree Is a mastering genius. Many bad sounding copies of Stand up sound smeared and compressed while this pressing Is the exact opposite." - Amazon

"I have enjoyed Steven Wilson's 2011 remix/remaster of Aqualung quite a bit, so I just had to grab this as soon as I spotted it in a store. I was not disappointed. The remix is crystal clear, loyal to the original but a little bit punchier and more "lively". The vinyl is of great quality too, gotta love these heavy, robust 180g releases (if not for the sound quality then for the general feel of them). The original pop-up sleeve and the booklet are a welcome addition as well. A truly great release overall, very glad to have it in my collection!" - Discogs
