Room Friendly High End Reference Loudspeaker - An Acoustically And Aesthetically Beautiful Jewel

Unique High-End Audio Made In France, Performs Superbly With Both Valve And Solid State Amplifiers

One Pair Only - Floor Stock - As New Condition

Founded by Georges Cabasse in 1950, Cabasse got its start building drivers and loudspeakers for the Cinemascope multichannel sound system developed by the film industry to lure patrons back to theatres following the introduction of television. Today, Cabasse is still in France and is one of Europe's most popular brands with products that are definitely eye-catching!

With its unique 3-way tri-axial driver mounted in a sphere for a perfectly controlled and homogeneous diffusion, the Baltic IV's definition and dynamic range are comparable to the most sophisticated systems available. The realism and 3D soundstage are exclusive to speakers designed using Cabasse Spatially Coherent System (SCS) principles. The conceptual advantage of a point source derived from concentric sources, in which all directional frequencies emanate from a central location, seems obvious. Generated direct and reflected sounds result in greater transparency and a larger sweet spot when compared to stacked multi-driver systems, whose reflected sound will, of necessity, be more disjointed.

Evolving To Baltic IV

Improving the performance of Baltic in the same 27 cm spherical enclosure forced the Cabasse team to reconsider the tri-axial driver from scratch, including the development in house of exclusive aramid fabrics for the production of new low/low-midrange and midrange membranes. These concentric membranes form in profile a constant curve, offering more radiating surface and almost no diffraction from the minimized radiating areas. The homogeneity and purity of the diffusion from top highs - out to 25kHz - to lows are constant. The gain in rigidity with no compromise in weight enables the use of new more powerful rare-earth magnets. It improves significantly the efficiency and the power handling of th Baltic IV. The simultaneous production of both membranes by Cabasse robotized machines guarantees the reliability and the constancy of the performance.

Sharing the same design principles as used in the Cabasse reference speakers La Sphere and L'Ocean, Baltic IV is a one of a kind loudspeaker available in three versions; On Stand, On Base, and On Wall. Here we feature the floor-standing version. Sold separately, it is recommended that the matching Cabasse Santorin 30-500 Subwoofer be used with the Baltic IV's.

HDSE Filters

The Cabasse measuring protocol in the anechoic chamber takes into account measurements on the listening axis and at 360° for perfect control of the directivity and global power output in keeping with the Cabasse HDSE principle (Homogeneous Distribution of the Sonic Energy). Direct and reflected sounds are homogeneous, the sound stage wide and stable.
