The difference between a WiiM Amp Pro and WiiM Amp Ultra comes down to a few different features. They are both quality music streamers, however the WiiM Amp Ultra is more powerful, cleaner and has a more stable output, which means it is better suited for a larger system. The Wiim Amp Pro runs at 60W per channel at 8Ω, 120W @ 4Ω, so is fantastic for a small to medium hi-fi setup.
The Amp Pro and Amp Ultra both come with ESS Dac’s, but the Ultra’s offers a higher resolution and lower distortion. The Amp Pro has a sleek aluminium chassis and is quite slick to look at, but if you are after a more luxurious and user-friendly product, then the Ultra comes with a 3.5” colour touchscreen, which shows the album art and controls.
The Wiim Amp Pro and WiiM Amp Ultra both have exceptional connectivity options, including Bluetooth 5.3, HDMI ARC, Optical, Line-in, USB, Ethernet and Sub Out, so plenty of choices to connect with.
We would recommend the WiiM Amp Pro for music lovers, who are after a high-res streaming option in an affordable package. If you have a bigger setup and are after more power, room correction and advanced connectivity, the Wiim Amp Ultra is the option we would recommend.
