There are no absolute rules for home cinema room sizes but here are some guidelines. If it’s just going to be two of you watching, then a large screen TV and a 5.1.2 system can happily play in a 3.8 x 4.2m room (avoiding a square). If you expect four people most of the time then you will need a projector, screen and cinema seating and a 4 x 5m room would probably be the minimum. A six person seating arrangement would necessitate a 4 x 7m room to comfortably accommodate two rows of seating with the ability to recline. Unless it’s a new build, most people don’t build a cinema room, they are normally re-purposing one of the rooms in their house. This means the dimensions are pretty set and our knowledgeable team at Audio Trends are very good at recommending the correct setup for your particular sized room and we’ll let you know if what you have in mind is going to work and recommend alternatives if it’s not.
