Overview
Stereo Systems are still hot! Audio Trends has always been at the forefront of top value hi-fi systems.
If you have realised that straight Stereo still has appeal, then you will be delighted with what Audio Trends has to offer in the way of Stereo Systems. Sure, because of our experience (read age) a lot of what we recommend is old school – low power outputs; no flashing lights etc. A CD player and usually only two speakers are included, but with the incredible advances in subwoofers (thanks to surround sound); it is sometimes advantageous to include. We show this as an option where appropriate. Famous Stereo electronics brands in stock include Cambridge; McIntosh; NAD; Rega; Rotel; Vincent and Yamaha. Some, like Rega even have a range of quality speakers. Whatever way you choose, we have a combination to suit.
Of course, brands like Denon and Yamaha also make some cute 'stereo packages' which can be suitable for very small rooms or where there are no serious demands by the listener. These are listed elsewhere. Click here for Mini Stereo Systems. |

Description
Ridiculously good, ridiculously cheap! NAD made this slogan there own in the early 80s! Even though NAD now concertrate their marketing on the 'music first' platform, their original slogan still holds true today and especially with our no-nonsense NAD and Rega system.
NAD rocketed to world attention in late 1978 with the release of the famous 3020 Stereo Amplifier. This so called 20 Watt Amplifier - actually delivered around 35 Watts - and the derivations that followed has reached sales well in excess of 700,000! That is considered the record for any one Amplifier using the same design platform. Today, it appears on our shelves as the NAD 325BEE.
At A Glance: The System includes a NAD C325BEE Amplifier; NAD C525BEE CD Player; Rega R1 Bookshelf Speakers; 6 metres Tara Labs Klara Speaker Cable; Tara Labs 300a CD Interconnects. Speaker Stands are an optional extra.

The system includes Rega Apollo CD player which sounds vastly more expensive than it is with midrange and treble performance that's right out of the top draw.
Rega Brio 3 integrated amplifier, while no powerhouse, it has grip, speed and musicality in spades and makes a brilliant partner to the Apollo CD player.
Rega R3 loudspeaker which does detail, dynamics and bass with rare skill for a speaker so slim and visually unobtrusive. |

| The Classy Cambridge and Orpheus Stereo System |
|
|

|
Description
Sounds pretty impressive doesn't it...the Cambridge System! Well, you had better believe it, this brand can really trace its heritage back to Cambridge, the University town famous for all sorts of things including the famous regatta with arch rivals Oxford University.
Mass market Hi-Fi (if you could call it that) really only got going in the mid to late 60's with brands like Leak, Marantz and Fisher (now defunct) leading the way. Quad was considered very upmarket in those days, and this led to a number of small botique brands emerging one of which was Cambridge Audio.
Today, Cambridge has a concentrated range of mainly Stereo Products with an impressive eight Stereo amplifiers in the international range and an equally impressive choice in CD Players. Our speaker choice comes from long-time favourite amongst our audiophile customers - the Orpheus Aurora 2.
At A Glance: Our most popular choice with our customers and therefore our recommended System comprises the following: Cambridge Azur 640A (Version 2) Stereo Amplifier; Cambridge Azur 540C CD Player; Orpheus Aurora 2 Floorstanding Speakers; 6 metres IXOS Bi-Wire Speaker Cable inc Banana Plugs; Chordz CD Interconnects.
Suggested Options: R&K Power Lead(s) extra $299; Project Belt Drive Turntable with Phono Pre-amplifier extra $550; Cambridge Azur 640C CD Player extra $200. |

| The Yamaha AM/FM Receiver Stereo System |
|
|

|
Description
Yes, there are still plenty of people who want what was popular in the late 70's to late 90's! Australia reintroduced FM radio back in the mid 70's and as a result a new way of buying Hi-Fi arrived. Sales of Receivers - Amplifier and Tuner combined - rocketed! Folks liked the convenience of having everything in one box even though in most low cost Receivers performance was definitely inadequate across the board.
However, Yamaha emerged as one of the pre-eminent Receiver manufacturers in those years and there dominance with very reliable products that featured robust performance saw them gain a huge market share. Interestingly, they are one of the very few brands that still make a couple of good quality Receivers which can sound really quite sweet when coupled to the right speakers...
At A Glance: Suggested System includes a Yamaha RX-797 AM/FM Stereo Receiver; Yamaha CD-657 CD Player; Sonique SAV-5SE Floor Standing Speakers; 6 metres Tara Labs Klara Speaker Cable; Tara Labs 300a CD Interconnects.
Suggested Option: Denon 5 Disc Multi CD Player extra $150. |

| The Rega Vinyl Stereo System |
|
|

|
Description
For over 30 years, Rega’s philosophy has always been to make high quality products at sensible prices, as a means of reproducing music as faithfully as possible. Rega is committed to the design and development of new and existing hi-fi products, that will perpetuate Rega’s values of quality and value for money for years to come.
With that in mind, we present a system that still maintains the integrity of hi-fi systems from the past but incorporates the advances of today. The combination has been selected to faithfully and may we add beautifully recreate the majesty of vinyl. Yes, for many of us, vinyl still rules! It is amazing and very encouraging to observe how many under 30's are realising that vinyl has a 'magic' that still eludes digital sources. So, if you want a musical experience that will leave you completely fulfilled and wanting for more, then this is going to really impress. Definitely not in the budget department, but delivering a performance that compares with many far more expensive combinations.
At A Glance: System includes a Rega P2 Belt Drive Turntable with RB-250 Tonearm; Rega Bias 2 MM Cartridge; Rega Mira 3 Integrated Stereo Amplifier; Rega R3 Floor Standing Speakers; Chordz Speaker Cable and Interconnects.
Suggested Options: R&K Power lead(s) extra $299; DBA Power Conditioner extra $1600 |

Description
In 1972, at a meeting in Europe, eight people representing companies in the USA, UK, France, Switzerland and Germany formed a HiFi company soon to be known as NAD (New Acoustic Dimension). What made this event so unique was all of these individuals were already involved in the sales and marketing of high fidelity equipment. Since that time NAD has become known predominantly as manufacturing high performance products at down-to-earth prices.
However, the design team headed by Bjorn Erik Edvardsen was keen to prove that they could also challenge the benchmarks in truly top-end audio and they have certainly achieved an incredible result with the recent release of the Master Series. Master Series has not been manufactured with price at the top of the list of priorities, but rather sound and build quality. The result is absolutely fantastic product which is still at a price that is absolutely amazing.
At A Glance: The system includes the NAD M3 Integrated Stereo Amplifier; NAD M5 CD Player; Aaron Hyperboloid Speakers |
