| Mitsubishi HC6800 Cinema Projector - 1080P |
|
|
Made in Japan |
Description
Mitsubishi HC6800: With an outstanding array of features such as contrast ratio levels up to a staggering 30,000:1, a superb brightness of 1500 ANSI Lumens and a Reon-VX image processor for superior playback from any video source, the HC6800 from Mitsubishi Electric delivers a truly exciting home theatre experience in the comfort of your own home.
The aperture ratio of the HC6800 home theatre projector has been increased by 20% in comparison to conventional LCD displays, which in turn improves the light transmittance ratio, giving the HC6800 a maximum brightness of 1500 ANSI lumens. The increased brightness means the projector can be enjoyed even in the relative brightness of a living room with the curtains closed during the day.
The swift auto-iris measures brightness at 60 times per second for high speed transitions between light and dark images, ensuring faithful reproduction of scene sequences in films or TV shows. Combined with the "Original Contrast Control, the auto-iris delivers contrasts up to 30,000:1 for the richest blacks, the brightest whites and the most vivid colours in between.

| SIM2 Domino D80E DLP Cinema Projector - 1080P |
|
|
Description
The DOMINO D80E is the latest addition to SIM2’s DOMINO home theatre projector series. Based on the award-winning D80 model, this new “Evolution” series builds on the outstanding performance of the impressive original.
The “Evolution” enhancement of the D80E makes great use of a sophisticated technology originally developed for use in SIM2’s Grand Cinema™ series’ models, namely Unishape™ lamp technology. When used in conjunction with BrilliantColor™ colour enhancement, the millsecond-precision of the dynamic Unishape™ lamp system takes the performance of D80E to an altogether higher level. With a wider, more vivid colour palette on offer, along with improved contrast and increased light output.
This Full HD specification home theatre projector utilises Texas Instruments’ DarkChip3™ into SIM2’s patented ALPHAPATH™ light engine to deliver outstanding high definition images on-screen. The D80E also enables standard definition sources to be reproduced at 1080p resolution, thanks to sophisticated 10-bit video processing electronics.
The DOMINO D80E is compatible with all video standards (includ9ing 1080@24fps) and offers a wide choice of both analogue and digital source inputs, including HDCP compliant HDMI™, making it eminently suitable for use with today’s HD devices.
Available in either Matte Black or Matte White cabinet colour.
WOW! Sound and Image Magazine recently conducted a group test of 1080p projectors ranging from $5,999 to $16,995. The projectors they tested were:
-
Runco RS900 – RRP $16,995
-
DreamVision Dream Bee – RRP $12,995
-
SIM2 Domino80E – RRP $11,999
-
InFocus IN82 – RRP $7,499
- Mitsubishi HC6000 - $5,999
And the conclusion? The Domino 80E was “A worthy winner”, thanks to picture quality that “in short, was quite magnificent. There was a remarkably realistic depth in the colour of images, while complete naturalism was retained”. These points are largely thanks to the innovative UniShape lamp technology in the Domino 80E, as noted in the review.

| SIM2 MICO50 Cinema Projector |
|
|
|
Description
The ‘visuals’ of a movie make up to a staggering 50% of the audience experience, the ability of the projection system to produce a convincingly realistic image is critical to maintaining audience involvement, and stimulate the visual cortex. Manufacturers of quality visual products know and understands these fundamentals, R&D of new technologies are key to their pursuit of visual excellence.
When something this special comes along there is an intrinsic curiosity to see just what all the hype is about, well I can confidently say the hype about the SIM2 Mico 50 is not just well deserved, there needs to be more of it. This projector makes it to the lofty heights of performance that it instantly enters the MUST HAVE list, for home theatre/cinema has now entered the realms of serious no compromise performance, with a longevity of approx 30,000 hours, now that's traditionally reserved for TV's, this is a projector that will provide years of visual nirvana.
Performance of the highest quality, especially with the likes of the new offerings from Sim2, these devices need to “seen to be believed”. Being a sceptic myself having heard all sorts of promises of performance from many and varied brands, not only surprised by the performance of the Sim 2 Mico 50 I wanted one for myself. Those of you who know me, know that is no small feat. My congratulations to Sim2 for producing such a superlative Projector that perfectly defines performance.

| SIM2 C3X1080T1 DLP Projector |
|
|
|
Description
The Grand Cinema™ C3X revolutionized the home theater projection market when it was launched in late 2005, bringing high-end picture quality to the market in a stylish, compact format. Now, for late 2007, SIM2 is about to do it all over again, with the launch of the Grand Cinema™ C3X 1080.
This next-generation home theater projector is totally unique to SIM2 – no other manufacturer has the ability to produce a high performance 3-chip projector with such compact dimensions, which is why SIM2 has taken out five separate patents for this product alone. The Grand Cinema™ C3X 1080 is without doubt a true thoroughbred, offering unprecedented picture quality for the discerning home theater customer.
The Grand Cinema™ C3X 1080 achieves this extraordinary picture quality through the partnership of the latest 0,95" 1080p DarkChip4 DLP® chipset from Texas Instruments and the precision optics of SIM2’s ALPHAPATH™ light engine. No other technology can match the superb color depth, excellent contrast ratio (>10.000:1 typical) and exceptional brightness that C3X 1080 delivers.
The C3X 1080 utilizes true 10-bit video processing (with high-definition scaling and de-interlacing capabilities) to create clean, artefact-free video images.
10-bits-per-channel processing produces 1024 shades of gray (or shades of a single color) : the result is the ability to render over 1 billion colors on-screen, whilst also making the projector compatible withFull HD 1080p content (including 1080p@24fps) .
To aid calibration of the projector, SIM2 introduces a new advanced color management calibration software that enables complete control over the primary, secondary and white point color coordinates. This PC-based software gives calibration experts unprecedented control over the projector image quality. The image can be further optimized by using one of the nine sets of gamma curves available, these can be used to correct for variations in the source material, or differing levels of ambient lighting, or simply to allow for individual viewing preferences.
For ease of installation, a choice of three lens options are available for C3X 1080: T1 (short-throw), T2 (long-throw- standard), and T3 (long-throw) (available Q1 2008), which allows for greater flexibility in the positioning of the projector.
On the connectivity front, the C3X 1080 has a extensive choice of both analogue and digital video inputs, including two HDCP enabled HDMI™ sockets - ensuring full compatibility with 1080p HDTV and the vast array of today’s video sources.
The Grand Cinema™ C3X 1080 is performance and elegance personified - a true Italian masterpiece. Available in high-gloss Gun Metal (Standard), additional colors available on request.
