Overview
Compact Mini-Systems have had a mixed reception over the years. And no wonder, there has been an avalanche of total garbage coming from even well known brands! Often referred to as ‘plastic-fantastics’ they looked more like Tokyo at night rather than a decent audio system.
Leading manufacturer Denon, didn’t join in, nor did NAD rather preferring a more conservative approach. Only after consulting with their dealers world-wide did they launch a range of mini-systems, a range that has received applause even in the hard-line audio press. There are a number of both Stereo and Surround Sound Systems in our range... |

Denon S-101 Virtual Surround Sound System |

Description
The Denon S-101 mini system combines high-quality performance with a striking, décor-friendly design. This streamlined system offers crisp DVD playback and uses Dolby Virtual Speaker technology to create room-filling sound with just two speakers and a subwoofer. Setup and operation is really easy, along with some special features — like a front-panel connection that enables the S-101 to play and control your iPod. Yep, you heard right – you can connect an iPod to the S-101.
The speakers come with table stands, or you can wall-mount them for an elegant, space-saving setup — a perfect complement to today's flat-panel TVs. However, one of the coolest features of this system is its iPod compatibility. Just hook up your iPod using the supplied cable. The S-101 displays a menu on your TV that looks and works like your iPod's screen. You can control your iPod using the remote. Listen to your favourite songs through the S-101's speakers, or enjoy a slideshow from your iPod Photo on your TV. You don't have to worry about your iPod running low on power either, since the S-101 also charges it for you. |

| NAD VISOFIVE DVD/CD Surround Receiver |
NAD VISOFIVE: By combining the DVD/CD Player and Digital Surround Sound Receiver in one elegant package, one needs only to add the TV monitor and Surround Sound Speaker package to the NAD VISO FIVE to have theatre quality sound in any room of the home. The ability to choose loudspeakers separately, ones that suit your specific needs, should not be underestimated.
The VISO FIVE forms the heart of an advanced Home Cinema. Its compact dimensions (especially depth), makes it ideal for apartment and condo dwellers, yet there is no compromise when it comes to performance. The supplied HTR-7 Remote can operate your TV, VCR, Satellite or Cable Tuner, and almost any other IR remote controlled device. The logical layout and illuminated keys make operating your AV system straightforward and enjoyable, and the HTR-7, with it's ability to learn the remote commands of up to eight different devices, eliminates the clutter of multiple remote handsets.
Unlike the "Home Theater in a Box" systems that include speakers (usually of questionable quality), the NAD VISO FIVE allows complete freedom to choose speakers that fit your decor and suite your taste in sound. New features for the VISO FIVE include Progressive Scan DVD with HDMI digital video output, simplified setup using the On Screen Display, and the inclusion of the latest surround formats: DVD-Audio (super high resolution audio), Dolby Virtual Speaker (provides a convincing surround effect with only two front speakers), and Dolby Headphone (remarkable “holographic” surround effect from headphones.)
