The Aaron CC-240 is a genuine full range, high powered centre channel speaker. It is a three-way design, something quite rare in the speaker world due to perceived complications in design, but matches the Aaron AT-S series which are the same. The resulting performance is top-class. The driver complement, which are all magnetically/video-shielded, includes two 173mm woofers, one 136mm mid-range and one 25mm tweeter. Connecting to high-power amplifiers with outputs up to 160 Watts is no problem.

The Aaron CC-120 Centre Speaker is a very nice entry priced, medium sized centre channel speaker. Two 136mm woofers and one 25mm tweeter make up the driver complement. Cabinet construction is excellent and even the drivers employ large magnets relative to their size. Crossover networks are also of high quality construction. For surround sound the Aaron HSS-600 bi pole is at the pinnacle. In order for surround speakers to function perfectly they must pass several criteria. Apart from high power handing, a flat frequency response and low distortion they must have a radiation pattern, such, that when compared with the direct sound the indirect sound has the same intensity. In other words the sound arrives at your ears equally from the side, rear and front walls, tricking the human ear into believing there is a wall of sound rather than a point source.

The Aaron SS-120 can serve dual roles. The Whatmough P8 centre channel uses identical drivers to the P33 and offers virtually identical performance as the centre channel for an AV system. As this is a three way system, the tweeter was able to be mounted directly above the midrange which eliminates the response anomalies when listening off axis which are common to horizontal speakers. The drivers used in the P8 are not shielded, so the P8 is not suitable for use with CRT (tube) TV sets. It is designed to be used with Plasma or LCD screens as well as projectors.
